The guesthouse is perfectly located within 2 mins walking distance of the local train and cable car. The surrounding setting is pretty and inside it's cosy and the room is simple but stylish with futon bed. Despite the thin mattress we all slept really well, it was really comfy. The bar area is small and cute and the staff is very friendly. They serve dinner (but no breakfast), the food (pizza) was delicious, home-made and served one at a time as it got cooked individually. We had some great local beers as well. The onsen is a great experience is you prefer to have your privacy, very easy to book and to get a slot (even when we checked in late evening). Toilets and bathroom are shared and very clean. The other guests were respectful of quiet time and we didn't hear any noises until morning.

The nicest staff ever! It was a HUGE open room for our family of four with a 12 and 14 year old. They loved the private spa and that we could hang out in the kitchen/shared space in the evening. The town is pretty sleepy and things close early. We enjoyed the cooler weather, enormo hydrangea, and taking the tram up the mountain to see Mt. Fuji and a lake in the area. This establishment has a coffee shop a minute away where I had a yummy oat milk latte and kids grabbed hot dogs. I know they say the walls are thin here, but people respected noise levels and didn't have any issues. Largest accommodation during our stay in Japan.

Friendly staff who helped us to leave our luggage earlier and also booked the Onsen for the available slot. Great location near Gora station - leaving the luggage gave us flexibility to travel with our backpack only for the rest of the day. The pantry was small, clean and well maintained where you can warm your food and enjoy the meal with your family. Nice collection of drinks and space to mingle with other tourist. The private Onsen gives you flexibility to manage your slot and if you can't book it then you can also use the other Onsen on first come first serve basis.

Of all the places we’ve stayed in Japan, Hakone Tent had the best vibe. Friendly staff and friendly travellers, with the option to be sociable (eat and drink in the bar area, which has books, board games, a hammock and piano etc). The room we stayed in was warm, beautiful and traditional. The property is located a 1 min walk from Gora station which was a perfect base for us, and it has parking which was handy for us as we drove in from Fuji Five Lakes area. The onsen was very relaxing! The property was peaceful; we didn’t hear any noise at night.

We wanted a place with onsen and tatami and therefore landed to this place. The best part is it's location which is near Gora Station - to me it's like a centre point where you could take the train to Hakone-Yumoto or take the cable car and continue your sightseeing journey to Owakudani via the ropeway. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there's a nice dining bar behind the reception which looks cosy and inviting, a great placed to chill and make friends. There's shared kitchen and free coffee & tea.
